Bubbles

This past week we went to Paradise Park with a friend, and I took Kellen both to the zoo and Deanna Rose on the weekend to get out of the house while Lee has been tiling our master bath. The picture with Kellen eating the banana is after we got back from Paradise Park. He painted his own face for the first time!

Today we went to the farmer's market in Lee's Summit. Kellen likes that because I don't keep him confined in the stroller, I buy him a snack and there are usually dogs around for him to pet.

I also included pictures of Kellen blowing bubbles, and a picture from when we went out to dinner for my mom's 50th birthday. This is a picture of him being quiet, sitting on my Dad's lap. He was the only child in the restaurant and a terror!

4th of July

I'm a little late posting this, but our dishwasher has been broken for over 2 weeks now and it seems like all I am doing is dishes!

We picked 10 pounds of blueberries the morning of the 4th. Chris, Connor and Ashlin joined us. Kellen didn't pick any but ate so many he got diaper rash the next few days.

I also found a cute sparkly hat at Target so I took a few pictures of Kellen playing around with it.

Talking on the phone

We were at Brian and Chris's for a bbq Saturday night and all the other kids were either in bed or had left. Kellen usually does really well staying up past his bedtime. It is 10:30 or 11 when I took this video and we were in the midst of putting his pajamas on.

New pictures!

I have a lot of various pictures I want to share. Kellen has gotten a big kick out of riding his Zebra lately, but what he really likes it standing on it, sometimes with 1 leg! It won't be long until he falls off and breaks his neck, I am sure.

He also helped Lee open his father's day gifts, which is the first time he had been interested in ripping open the wrapping paper. And I have a picture of him outside before we were playing in the baby pool yesterday with his hat on. He ripped it off right after the picture.

This past week, Kellen's favorite toys have been books. All he wants to do is sit on my lap and read. I love this of course, since I had been and English teacher and have been reading to him since he was about 6 weeks old. He also likes sitting in the new basket I got for him to put his books in.

Oh, and Kellen has started saying uh-huh. It's great because now I feel like I can have a conversation with him.

Eating prunes!

Lee fed Kellen some prunes for breakfast and he was really hamming it up!
The other picture is Kellen trying to feed Ginger some of his snacks. Jackson always takes them of course and he kept trying to force them on Ginger.
I am amazed at how smart Kellen is and how much he understands although he doesn't say much of anything. Lee gave Kellen his empty cereal box thinking Kellen might want to hide some toys in it and play, and Kellen walked right over and threw it over our gate into the recyling bin. And that's exactly where it would have ended up.

Deanna Rose Farmstead

My mom and I took Kellen to Deanna Rose for the first time on Thursday. He loved the goats! We ran into my cousins Mike and Marci, and their baby Lilly, who is close to Kellen's age.
I took a million pictures and have some video. Small world!

Expensive taste already

Whenever we are in my bedroom, Kellen grabs the two purses I actually use to play with and drags them all over the house. It cracks me up. As you can see in the background, he has tons of toys to play with but my purse. I gave him an old one to play with, but he only wants the ones I actually use! I caught him putting lipstick in his hair a few weeks ago.
