Walkin' in the grass

It was fairly nice today and Lee took Kellen outside to play in the grass. You can tell he's all boy because he kept his eyes on the ground the whole time, looking for leaves, sticks, and dirt he could play with!

But I don't wanna be ONE!

We let Kellen open his presents from us on his actual birthday, try his hand at some cake again and wear a birthday hat. He hated the hat!!!

Kellen's 12 month check up

Kellen weighed in at 22 pounds, 4 ounces (30th percentile) and is 29 inches tall (25th percentile).
We had been afraid that maybe he was getting too fat, so I was suprised when his percentiles were so low. Lee had just commented on how big Kellen's belly was the other day! Kellen eats a lot of food, especially carbs. Guess he walks it all off!

Kellen's Birthday Party

2nd haircut, 1st lollipop

Kellen would not sit still for this haircut, so Rose enticed Kellen with a lollipop. This was his first taste of anything with sugar, but he will be getting more this weekend since he will be having some birthday cake!
The other picture is of Kellen playing at the mall.

These are a few of my favorite things...

Kellen's new favorite things are blueberries and Beyonce! I still have blueberries in the freezer from when we went to the blueberry patch this summer. I've been giving some to Kellen for breakfast and he eats them faster than I can cut them in half!
Last night Lee and I were watching the Saturday Night Live we had tivoed. Beyonce was the performer. Both times when she sang, Kellen stopped playing and just stared at her the entire time. He was mesmerized. During the 2nd song he was even smacking his lips and giving her a kiss. It was so cute!

Doin' the laundry

I had a laundry basket full of dirty laundry waiting to be taken downstairs. Kellen occupied himself for about 30 minutes taking it all in and out of the basket. It's the simple things that entertain him!

70 degrees!

It really warmed up this afternoon so we took Kellen to the park to swing. Too bad it's going to be in the 20's tomorrow. Here is some video.

Great Great Grandma Jenkins

My mom, Kellen, and I took a trip to Macon, MO to visit my 95 year old Great Grandma. She had never seen Kellen before so she was happy to see us. Kellen did great during the 7 hour car ride! Here is a picture.
